Gus Mahlzon offered my oldest son a football scholarship when he was with Tulsa, I think it was when he was at Tulsa. Jake went to the University of Wisconsin instead. Gus offered my youngest son a scholarship a few months ago, then took it back, giving it to someone else. 🙁 Nick, my youngest then accepted a scholarship with University of Louisiana, Lafayette. Gus was coach at Springdale, when Jake was at Rogers HS. Anyway, we had hoped Nick would play for Arkansas State, but I think everything worked out ok. :-).
