Nothing brings people together better than good food served with hospitality and grace.
Working in the kitchen and garden and preparing good food is my passion because it creates community. Different cultures, different beliefs, it doesn’t matter. Put them all around a table of good food, sharing stories, getting to know one another – that’s community – and God designed us for community.
I’m especially fond of the great food of my Southern culture and have so many fond memories of church potlucks where every family brought a specialty dish. Chicken and dressing, chicken and dumplings, railroad pie, ambrosia, Watergate salad, all the classics.
I believe in the power of good food, and hospitality and grace to change the world, so it’s my pleasure to share fun culinary experiences with you here where I’ll highlight recipes and demonstrate on video how to make some of the South’s best fare. Have a recipe you’d like me to try out? Shoot me an email.
I even have a cookbook featuring the nostalgic dishes of my childhood on the farm. You may order a signed copy of Seasons and Seasonings: Foods that Flavored Life on Highbanks Road here.
See you soon, and buen provecho!
